Impact Team
Village Care is looking for people interested in volunteering in Africa. Volunteers support projects initiated during community discussions and assist schools and orphanages with their critical needs children. Sign up and we will send you more information about Impact Team dates and trip options.

Donate!
If you cannot volunteer your time, you can always donate your money! Donations are tax deductible and supportt programs in the village. You can chose from a variety of projects on our donations page. 100% of your donation goes to the project.

Veteran Team
If you have been to Africa with Village Care before, this trip is for you. Visit a community that you have been to or choose to explore a new one. We are currently sending veteran teams to Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya.

November 6 - November 20, 2010
Tanzania Team
In November, the team will fly into Nairobi, Kenya,before traveling by van to the Kilimanjaro area of Northern Tanzania. Team Members will help in schools with teaching, cooking, cleaning or whatever the current need is while the team is visiting. They will visit local projects started by VCI partner communities and work alongside community members. Several nearby villages will be visited as well as area schools and orphanages.
When the field work is complete, the team will return to Kenya to safari at Amboseli National Park where they will see the many beautiful animals of the Serengeti. The team will spend time debriefing and unwinding as they prepare for the trip home. When it's time to return to Nairobi for flights home, the team will travel by van and spend their final night, followed by their final day filled with souvenir shopping and a visit to a local orphanage.

March 19 - April 2, 2011
Tanzania Team
Village Care Tanzania will welcome our first 2011 team to the Arusha area in Northern Tanzania. The team will travel by car from Nairobi to visit the many local project teams and partner orphanages and schools. Team members will help with documenting the registered children and learn about the businesses started through our "Outcomes for Business" training.
When the field work is complete, the team will safari in one of Kenya's top national game parks. There, they will spend time debriefing and unwinding as they prepare for the trip home. The last stop will be at one of Nairobi's hard working orphanage partners where they will see first hand the differences between city and rural care homes.
Deposits for the March 2011 Tanzania team are due December 19 - be one of the first to sign up for a great spring break!

April 9 - April 23, 2011
Uganda Team
Village Care Uganda will welcome it's first team of 2011 in April.. The team will fly into Entebbe/Kampala and travel by car to the Gulu area of Northern Uganda. Team members will help with documenting the registered children and learn about the businesses started through our "Outcomes for Business" training. They will see first hand where "The Invisible Children" survived and see first hand how the improvements to life in Gulu today are helping to restore some of these very children.
When the field work is complete, the team will return by air to Nairobi, then travel by van to safari in one of Kenya's top national game parks. There, they will spend time debriefing and unwinding as they prepare for the trip home. Their final day will include a trip to a local orphanage to provide encrouagement to staff members and children.

May 14 - May 28, 2011
Kenya Team
The May Kenya team will visit in two areas of Western Kenya. They will start their visit with a flight from Nairobi to Kisumu, on the shore of Lake Victoria. While in Kisumu, the team will partner with a number of orphanages, schools and care homes in the area to encourage and support the staff and children. Tasks may include cooking, cleaning, teaching English or in-depth discussions with youth.
Following the stay in Kisumu, the team will travel by car to the escarpment of the great Masai Mara Reserve and the small village of Manyatta. There, they will work alongside the people of the community to support their efforts to improve their health, education and well-being.
When the field work is complete, the team will spend time relaxing on safari and seeing the Mara, up close and personal!
They'll return to Nairobi and spend theif final day in a local orphanage before heading home.
