HIV/AIDS

Village Care response to the  AIDS Pandemic…

How are Orphans affected by HIV/AIDS?
The overwhelming number of orphans due to AIDS has placed a strain on traditional methods of caring for all orphans.  By supporting a family that decides to care for an orphan, we can avoid sending children to orphanages, and support traditional methods of coping.

What does Village Care do to help orphans affected by HIV/AIDS?
Our volunteers are trained about what HIV/AIDS is, how it affects children and families, and how anyone that is willing to help can care for those infected with HIV.  Volunteers in Africa provide new and up to date information on HIV/AIDS prevention, and learn to answer questions about HIV/AIDS common in the village. Our role is to provide information, and focus on prevention.
